5th graders, we're going to read two different books about Henry Knox. After reading the first one, Henry and the Cannons, what would you say are the most important things for us to know and remember about Henry Knox?
I think that what people need to know about Henry Knox is that even though he probably wanted to give up he didn't and he persevered. He was also really brave.
That he never gave up even when the cannons started to sink he still kept going. And when the oxen and horse were stuck carrying the sleds in the mud he kept going. When one of the boats hit a rock he got the men to pull it out of the mud! So we should always know Henry Knox as a loyal patriot.
Henry Knox was courageous because even though the cannons got stuck he got them out. It got stuck many times but he had courage so he never left them in the water or snow. that is why I think Henry was courageous.
He is determined because he never gives up like when the cannons fell in the water he wouldn't leave them behind. When his boat stared to sink he never game up.
First, Henry Knox is brave. Next, Henry Knox is smart. Finally, Henry Knox is not giving up.
