Wow, what a book! In our final week of thinking, talking and writing about Fish in a Tree, I am wondering what you will remember about this book. What is your biggest "take away" from Fish in a Tree?
The chapter with the famous people who had a hard time reading means a lot to me because, I have a hard time reading as well. And I also some times have a really, really hard time following teachers orders.
It kind of made me sad and it made me happy because Ally won an award for a poem. I didn't really like Shay because she was mean to Ally and I felt bad for Ally because she was always getting picked on. And I like Albert because when the bullies came to the school, he grabbed Shay and pushed her down and said "don't touch her again."
I think that at the end they showed it through they proved them self's, and that made them realize what they can do. Ally realized even that she has dyslexia she is special. Plus they have to give it BACK!
I think that at the end they showed it through they proved them self's, and that made them realize what they can do. Ally realized even that she has dyslexia she is special. Plus they have to give it BACK!
This is great book in the world. My favriot part of the book was when shays friends put the friend ship bracelet on her desk.I liked it when Albert beat up the bullies when they were walking to Albert.God he did a good job.I also liked when we found out that Allys brother also had dyslexia. What I hated the most was when Ally got bullied at school it made me feel so bad in side.
I thought it was so touching that Allie really wanted to help her brother. When she finally realized the problem, she didn't wait to take him straight to Mr.Daniels so he could get help. I also thought it was good when Jessica stood up to Shay and told her not to make fun of Allie. It was just all around great that Allie made some great friends.
I will remember when Mr. Daniels gave Ally a award for her poem and Ally realized that it was a award to make Ally feel better but Ally didn't like it so she ran out of the room and Kesha followed her and gave Ally a talk about how everyone is different.
I really think that Fish In a Tree was a great book, I usually don't like to read books twice but this might be one I want to read multiple times. I really liked the book because it had a lot of great moments for example: When Jessica and Shea's other friends piled up their friendship bracelets on Shea's desk.
I love the book I hope that they make a movie because I think that that it would make a awesome movie.I like how she made it so Shay didn't turn because it was a big surprise I thought that Shay would turn and become friends.
I think that it is cool because there always have to have a person that is mean to people but that should not happen. I think that it is cool that she found out that her brother has Dyslexia.
How I am going to remember the book is because it's different by having a Fish In A Tree, and fish do not belong in a tree so that reminds me of Ally. And when Albert stood up for him and his friends Ally and Keisha, and how Albert stood up to the bullies. And when he took the bully and pushed him against the wall. When Albert did that he was proud of him self.
I will remember this book forever because it touched my heart. The way that Mr.Daniels helped Ally. The way that Mr.Daniels was so kind to Ally and he was like, "Do you want to do chess club with me?" I was so surprised when Mr.Daniels was like, "Do words move on the page when you are reading?" to Ally and then he asked if she wanted to do chess club. I was like, "Mr.Daniels is finally going to figure out that Ally has dyslexia!" Then I was like, "Chess club!?" When we had the code I was surprised that it was so hard to figure it out. I was like ????. It was very confusing at first but I finally got it.
I think that Fish In A Tree is amazing. Ally struggles at school not being able to read and reading connects with all her school work. Math, reading, writing. Then Ally gets into trouble because she can't read. She got into trouble when she gave her teacher a sympathy card. And then this amazing teacher named Mr. Daniels comes along and decides to help this struggling child in school. That has no friends, get picks on, and can't read. This story will have a big impact on me by understanding that everybody's different and not everyone is the same or thinks the same. Like Melinda said, "Great minds don't think alike."
WOW! I can't believe that it's over!! I think the character I will remember most would be Kieasha or Travis because they remind me sooooooo much about myself! Kieasha and her epic attitude and sass, and Travis for his bravery and goofyness but I also LOVE Albert he's sooooooooo cool and extremely smart!
I am going to remember the part when Albert stood up for Keisha. ( When the bullies pushed her down.) I'm going to remember that part because, first he said he could not hurt anyone. Then he hurt them because they touched Keisha.
I will remember what Albert did for Ally
