We are celebrating the Chickadee Award nominees this week at PES! There are so many excellent contenders for the award... which book will you vote for? Why?
I'm going to vote for Won Ton. I love this book because he's so cute and funny! I also love it because I love, love, LOVE animals! I like how he doesn't like his new home at first then he starts to love it. My favorite part was when he wanted the catnip. I was wondering what his name was when he said its not Won Ton.
I am voting for It's Snowing because I thought the book was very informational. Another reason is I learned a lot from it. A few more reasons are that the book told me the whole cycle of snow, it told me about what you can do when it snows, and it showed what the cycle looked like. That is why I am voting for It's Snowing.
I vote for Nothing Like A Puffin because I love puffins. Plus, It had a penguin in it and I like penguins a lot too! Plus, I like how he was ruining the newspaper. Also, I really like illustrations, they make the puffin look cute too. It taught us that nothing is really like a puffin, well, except penguins. That is why I vote for this book!
I am voting for nothing like a puffin. Because I like puffins, And the pictures are good for little kids, Plus it talks a lot about differenciallity between objects. And it even talks about pegiens the cusin's of puffins.That's why I am voting for this book.
My favorite book is Nothing like a Puffin. I love the descriptive words in this book. The pictures were great. It was also very funny. Sue Soltis was the author.
I am voting for Marshal Armstrong is new to our school. I like how the kid is thinking Armstrong is wierd and he goes to his party and has a great time. I can relate because I thought someone was a little wierd. Then I got to know him and we were friends.

One reason why I like that book is it tells you what is like a puffin and what is not. the second reason is that it is a cute little book. the third reason is it gives fact about puffins. that is why nothing like a puffin is my favorite chickadee book
I choose "Swirl By Swirl" because I loved the pictures and it was very also educational. It also talked about some of my favorite animals like an octopus and a snake. This is why I choose "Swirl By Swirl". Michaela

I am voting for Monkey.I liked it because it is a trickster book. It shows that anyone can do anything. It had both really fun and great illustrations.
I vote for Swirl By Swirl because it has great illustrations. I like the poetry.I like all the swirls.I enjoyed all the hidden pictures of the animals underground.
I am going to vote for The Watcher because I liked how she stood up for herself when the people were attacking the chimp's land and she didn't give up.
I choose Marshall Armstrong is New to Our School because it's very very funny because the boy thinks Marshall is for out of this world. The boy thinks that because Marshall eat new food that the boy has never seen before. Marshall have to set in side because his dr said so. It's very very funny!
I liked the trickster tall. I liked it because the monkey did a lot of funny things. It was funny. And it gave my ideas. That's why I likes that book.
