Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

We are honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Monday.  His "I Have a Dream" speech is one of the most important speeches ever given in our country.























What are the big ideas of Dr. King's speech? Why do you think it was (and is) so important to our country?

  2. The idea was to change peoples minds about segregation and I think it is and was important because the people would have different things to use (EX:blacks would have a worse treatment and worse items than the whites) and then everybody wouldn't have equal rights

  8. I think Martin Luther King Jr.'s is that people shouldn't be separated by color. It is still important because he made a big change in the world and made it so people weren't separated by color.

  9. I think one of the big ideas of Martin Luther King Jr's speech is to give equal rights to black people and white people. Another big idea is to give America equal rights. Also to make everybody happy in America. It was important to America because the speech made us have equal rights to everybody in America.
