5th graders, what did you learn about Bass Reeves from reading Bad News for Outlaws?

  5. I learned that Bass Reeves was a US Deputy Marshal. He caught about 2,000 outlaws. He also dressed up like outlaws, farmers, etc. He was a good US Deputy Marshal.

  6. I didn't know who he was because he was a unsung hero. I didn't know wha was a marshall that well until we read this book. I loved this book.

  7. bass reeves is a interesting guy to me. because he killed people but he also got a laws badge. i think this was also a great book because the illustrations are nice and not gonna lie i like his name alot(;. i think it was sad when bass reeves had to put his son in jail. its probably hard.

  8. He was a really good outlaw and I think that theres a movie that has him in it called Magnificent Seven.

  10. I learned that Bass Reeves captured more then 1000 people and he only killed 14 people. He would stick to his job because he couldn't be bribed. Also his son killed his wife so he put him in jail. He didn't like killing people.

  11. I learned that Bass Reeves was an outlaw and that he put his own son in to court. Also, he captured more than 3,000 men and only killed 14. he died on January 12, 1910.

  12. I learn about Bass Reeves the he killed a lot Outlaws His son killed his wife and he had to put his son into court. He went to the west because he got into a fight with his owner.

  13. The thing that suprised me was that he killed 14 outlaws and captured over 3,000 men. Also he could shoot a contented flies left hind leg off. Now thats over exagerated.

  14. Bad news for outlaws is the most instering thing ever. I learned so much. I think Bass Reeves was a very brave man and didn't get scared .

  15. i learned he was u.s marshall deputy and killed outlaws and arrested them but and he fought with his owner because he brought him to the civil war and he ran away

I learned that Bass Reeves was a slave when he was a kid and ran away because he got in a fight with his owner and went to live with the natives. when Bass Reeves was an adult he became a marshal he captured outlaws and went under cover and sometimes as a last resort shot or just killed outlaws.
